    Prescription Retinoids

The clear skin overachiever, Retinoids are a derivative of Vitamin A responsible for new skin cell growth and collagen production. Their anti-inflammatory properties also make them an effective first-line treatment for acne.

Good for: acne, ageing skin, improving skin texture

    Hyaluronic acid

A naturally occurring molecule in the skin, hyaluronic acid is a jelly-like substance that fills the space between collagen and elastin fibres. It’s known for its intense hydrating potential and ability to improve skin tone and texture.

Good for: dry skin, ageing skin, pigmentation

    Niacinamide

Niacinamide is the water-soluble, active form of Vitamin B that helps to build keratin, a protein that improves skin immunity by maintaining brightness and elasticity. It also combats fine lines, wrinkles, and the signs of ageing.

Good for: acne, ageing skin, dull skin, dry skin

    Azelaic acid

The ultimate acne fighter, Azelaic acid works two-fold: as an acid that
gently exfoliates skin and keeps pores clean, and as an antibacterial agent
that prevents breakouts and calms inflammation.

Good for: acne, rosacea and hyperpigmentation

    Antibiotics

Antibiotics are medications that help to moderate acne-causing bacteria on the skin and heal inflammation. Available in oral and topical forms, antibiotics are a potent and effective form of treatment for acne-prone skin.

Good for: moderate to severe acne on the face and body

    Frequently asked questions

Have a question that’s not listed?

    What is Acne?

Acne occurs when dead skin cells and oil block hair follicles, which allows bacteria to grow and causes inflammation and irritation. There are many forms of acne, including whiteheads, blackheads, pimples and cysts. Most people experience some form of acne in their lifetime, especially teenagers and women at specific times during their menstrual cycle. Acne ranges from occasional mild breakouts to severe, painful acne that occurs regularly. Mild breakouts may be treatable with over the counter products , while severe acne may require oral antibiotic therapy or an oral retinoid.

What kind of treatments are available?

We work with Dermatologists who have extensive experience in acne treatments, using products they know and trust. Some of these include; retinoids, Hyaluronic Acid, topical antibiotics, Niacinamide and Azelaic Acid.

What treatment is right for me?

The best treatment for acne depends on your skin type and the root cause of your acne. Many people find that the occasional, mild pimple or breakout can be treated with over the counter pharmacy products, such as an acne spot treatment. Recurring mild to moderate acne may require a prescription topical treatment, such as a topical antibiotic or retinoids. Severe acne may require an oral antibiotic or retinoids. If you have sensitive skin or a condition like eczema or rosacea, you may need to use caution when choosing acne products. While there is not a single “best” treatment, our GPs can help you to figure out what will work best for your particular situation.

    How does it work?
    • Apply your acne treatment once daily (at night!) after cleansing and before or after moisturising, depending on your skin’s sensitivity. Make sure you wash your hands well after applying.
    • Due to the powerfully effective ingredients, you might start with a staggered application schedule—every third or every other night to start before working up to daily applications
    • Start seeing improvement in just weeks, with full results after about 3 months
Am I guaranteed prescription acne treatment?

Our doctors provide the highest standard of healthcare, which means that each patient is assessed on an individual basis. If our doctor determines that it is not safe for you to be prescribed your treatment, or believes that you should visit another GP in person to be further assessed, you will not be issued a prescription and they will provide you with some recommendations on next steps. If this occurs, your consultation fee will be full refunded.

How long until a doctor responds?

A doctor will review your assessment and respond within 24 hours. In most cases it will be much sooner than this.

    How much does it cost?

Your initial doctor’s consultation costs $25. If you’re prescribed treatment, it’s $40 a month. We’ll send a new treatment each month (with free delivery) so you won’t run out. You can cancel, pause, or delay at any time, and there are no cancellation fees.

How fast will it be delivered and how is it packaged?

Once your treatment has been paid for, we will ship with free express delivery to anywhere in Australia, meaning your package should arrive within 1-3 days. Your product is shipped in an Australia Post package, which means it will be completely discreet.

    Do you handle my repeats?

Yes, we will ship you a new treatment each month so you never run out (with free delivery), you only pay the cost of your treatment.

Can I speak to my doctor at any time?

Of course! If you log into your profile and head to the ‘Products’ tab, you will see a ‘Manage Treatment’ button. Click this and you’ll see the ability to send a message to your doctor. If you’re having any issues, just drop us a line at help@youly.com.au!
